Hundreds of women in 20 states of Mexico marched against gender related violence on Sunday. At its highest number, the march in Puebla alone counted some 300 people, including workers, students and militant feminists.

The goal of the march was not simply to draw attention to the murder of females, but also to the everyday aggression that occurs on public transport, in the street and at work.

The leaders also drew on the fact that political leaders do very little to fight for the female victims, calling public servants misogynistic and only willing to aid men- and as a result, no politicians were welcome at the march.

The march began at 3:30pm at the Teatro Principal and ended in the Zócalo of Puebla at 5pm.
