The american drummer Clarence Penn and his band Penn Station visited the Auditorio de la Reforma in Los Fuertes of Puebla on Friday 13th May as part of the New York Jazz All Stars program.
Considered one of the best drummers in the world, Penn has released numerous albums over the past decade including the widely popular Sight and Apparitions with his band, made up of Yasushi Nakamura, Manuel Valera and Chad Lefkowitz-Brown. Today Penn treated his audience to a class entitled ‘How to use the history of jazz to shape the future’, before taking the stage to perform.
The New York Jazz All Stars program will be continuing through out the year, with the next performance being on the 10th June by the pianist Edward Simon.
