The Museum of Evolution in Los Fuertes is quickly becoming one of the most popular tourist attractions for both children and adults alike, containing scenes and artefacts spanning some fourteen billion years, making it one of the largest collections in Latin America.

The museum contains over 600 pieces, including fossils, minerals, taxidermies and reconstructions of what now-extinct animals would have looked like. One of the most impressive exhibits is the reconstructed model of the largest shark to have ever existed, the 16 metre long Cacharocles Megalodon.

Only opened a few months ago, and representing a huge 114 million peso investment by the government, the aim of the museum is to encourage people to take more of an interest in the history of our planet, starting all the way back with the Big Bang.
