For a whole month the Feria de Puebla is celebrating the history and culture of Puebla, as well as its inhabitants, both past and present. Traditional customs and folklore play a huge role in the event, commemorating the rich history of the state. Another tradition of the festival is to honour one other city, and this year it’s New York, so whilst wandering around the festival ground you may find yourself suddenly in the urban jungle with a yellow taxi!
Whilst celebrating the history of Puebla, a huge amount of people generally attend the celebration due to the evening performances by many popular artists of the moment, such as Edith Márquez, Intocable and Los Ángeles Azules.
However for those free during the day, there is also a wide range of activities to enjoy if you head over to Los Fuertes. The huge convention centre hosts a plethora of stalls selling artesanal crafts and traditional foods, a bar can also be found for those visitors coming post-work.
There are also a few special attraction which have free entry on presenting an entry ticket to the Feria, such as the Lucha Libre each Tuesday; Olé, an ice-skating show, and Alta Escuela Domecq, a horse show. For extra cost there is also a water park and zip-line, a Leonardo Da Vinci exhibition, and even a Zombie Laserquest game.
The Feria de Puebla is running from 8th April till 10th May in Los Fuertes, from 11am till 11pm.
